ICYMI: 'Real Husbands of Hollywood' Reunite at 2025 BET Awards

Published on

After nearly a decade since the show ended, the cast of Real Husbands of Hollywood reunited at last week's BET Awards.

RHOH, which aired on BET from January 15, 2013 to December 13, 2016, and aired a six-episode revival in July 2021 for BET+, was a parody of the Real Housewives reality television shows.

Like its predecessors, the show followed the fictitious lives of seven male celebrities and their famous wives and friends and was a welcomed treat to the network and the genre, winning them a 2014 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

During a segment backstage, host and RHOH co-creator Kevin Hart was joined by his former castmates who were there both in support of Hart hosting, but also to compete for Walmart's "Father of the Year" title, for which co-star Nick Cannon joked he had "12 nominations".

"Here's why I will win the Walmart Father of the Year Award, because there's nobody in here who can say that they work non-stop and raised two highly intelligent kids who speak three different languages," said model-turned-actor and co-star Boris Kodjoe.

Comedian and co-star J.B. Smoove joked that DuoLingo should be nominated and win instead.

"Yeah, but how many of you guys can say you taught your kids how to hunt and hang glide and golf and fish?" RnB crooner and co-star Robin Thicke asked to which Cannon mockingly responded, "Only you, bro."

Co-star Duane Martin, who parents sons Xen and Ezekial with actress Tisha Campbell, ended the debate when he shared, "I should win the Walmart Father of the Year Award. I helped my son whoop autism, okay," to which the rest of the cast agreed.

At this point, Hart, who told the guys they "should all take a moment to realise that you're all great dads", gave them each a signature blue and yellow Walmart bag filled with items "to set the tone".

Martin was first, pulling out a bottle of supplements. When he asked Hart what that was all about, the comedian responded, "Well, I got you those because you got a girl half your age," referring to the 59-year-old actor's much younger fiancée Ashley Marie Jones.

"Pacifier?" Cannon asked. "Well, if you stay ready, you ain't got to get ready," Hart quipped.

Pulling out two small jars of food seasonings was Thicke, the only white castmate, who had to remind the crew that he was the only one present with a Soul Train Award.

"Yeah, well, that has nothing to do with your cooking. Next time you invite me over to your house for dinner, use those," Hart chuckled.

Next came a funny exchange between Hart and Smoove over, of all the things, pickles.

"Pickles? Come on, man. What is this? Why you give me pickles for?" asked Smoove who pulled out a jar of dill pickles.

"Because you keep saying I stole your pickle joke, so I decided to give it back. (Smoove: You did steal my pickle joke!) Take the pickles and don't ever say I took that joke again," said Hart.

Following Smoove mischievously warning Hart that "karma is coming your way", was Kodjoe questioning why Hart gave him a card that read "I miss you".

"That's not for you," Hart said as he snatched the card away from Kodjoe and stared into the camera. "This is for Nicole [Ari Parker]."

When co-star Nelly's absence came into question, fellow co-creator Chris Spencer joined the cast and asked if he could have the rapper's bag. But to his surprise, Hart already had a bag there waiting for him.

"Why is there deodorant in here?" Spencer asked.

"Well, most of your jokes stink. Time for you to clean it up," Hart said, trying not to laugh.

Bringing the bit to an end, Hart added, "Alright, guys, this Walmart Father of the Year Award is special. ...Even though some of you will leave here as losers, I want you to feel like winners in this moment," before asking his former co-stars to leave.

However, as they never take Hart seriously, the group followed the host out onto the BET Awards stage where they continued cracking on each other before introducing the next presenters Deon Cole and Dominique Thorne.

In an Instagram post, Martin hinted at a possible reboot of the show, with the caption, "Should we run it back?"
