The Masked Singer: Lucky Duck Revealed as Final Four All Advance to Season Finale
As the final four contestants battled it out for the top three spots in next week's season finale of The Masked Singer, Detective Lucky Duck made what was a final appearance on tonight's episode, to not only save all four singers from elimination, but to also reveal his own identity.
After a cute dance number and weeks of secretly gathering clues about each mask for the panel and audience, the sleuthing addition to this season unmasked himself, without any guesses from the panel, revealing himself to be Oscar-nominated filmmaker, actor and comedian Taika Waititi, Rita Ora's husband.
"Judging by the way these guys are guessing things ... they'll think it's Meryl Streep under here," he joked.
In a state of shock, Ora shouted, "Are you kidding me? I hate you! No way! I thought you were the most annoying thing on this show! I love you so much!" as she ran down to the stage to embrace her husband.
She added, "By the way, this is kind of your dream come true. You've always wanted to be a pop star. This is your moment. You should tell America that you are a pop star," to which Waititi responded, "I am a pop star, America."
When host Nick Cannon asked Waititi how he was able to keep his role on the show a secret from Ora, he joked, "Well, the main reason I wanted to do this is because this was the only way I was gonna get to see my wife because you guys got her working so hard, I never see her."
He added, "And how I kept this secret? She's always here. So, it was easy."
Ora added that Waititi's kids also really love the show, making his reveal even more "awesome".
The two-hour season finale airs next Wednesday, May 7, at 8/7c on FOX, as the final four - Coral Mask, Boogie Woogie Mask, Mad Scientist Monster Mask and Pearl Mask - battle it out to win the season 13 Golden Mask trophy.
